From the seed, this essential oil has the same sweet, earthy fragrance of the vegetable. As a natural diuretic, carrot seed helps to drain toxins from the system. A superb skin-nourishing essential oil, carrot seed helps balance both oily and dry complexions and heals damaged skin.  It can help to stimulate elasticity in the skin, making it wonderful in skin creams for dry, mature skin. Also helpful for dermatitis and general skin rashes. It is thought to be good for gout, arthritis, edema and rheumatism. Assists the digestive system with problems such as anemia, colic, indigestion and liver congestion. Is excellent for eczema, psoriasis, rashes and wrinkles. Blended with rose, geranium and clary sage, it also supports the physical and emotional transitions of menopause. The root oil is used in food colouring, (yellow), and in sun tan lotions.
