Basil, Sweet  Ocimum Basilicum ~ FAMILY, LABIATAE

Picture
Basil has a sweet liquorice-like fragrance and is perhaps most widely used in the treatment of chest and sinus infections (bronchitis, colds, flu).

Spicy and herbaceous, basil provides an emotional lift  and mental inspiration. It invigorates body and spirit, helping to refresh the mind and allow concentration, especially when tired. A good nerve tonic after a stressful day.

Try diffusing to dispel after-lunch lethargy. Basil is thought to be native to Asia and Africa but many culinary forms are now grown  throughout the world.
